 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and execute high throughput genotyping by a variety of methods
  • Provide general molecular biology support to projects as needed including construct building, plasmid DNA extractions, restriction enzyme digests, DNA sequencing

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in the areas of vector construction, gene cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, gene expression and promoter characterization
  • Integrate with strain development scientists to construct/optimize metabolic pathway activity focused on product generation
  • Participate in the design and execution of genetic screens focused on strain optimization

Student Assistant

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain glassware
  • Maintain and replenish general laboratory stock solutions, solid and liquid media
  • Provide support to laboratory manager in general upkeep, stock keeping and equipment maintenance
  • Support ongoing research as needed through plasmid DNA purification, RNA isolation, fatty acid esterification

Wheat Breeding Lead

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain breeding plan.

  • Identify, introgress and evaluate in multi-location agronomic studies,optimal mutant product/s.

  • Implement the use of molecular markers in breeding where appropriate.

  • Coordinate and manage greenhouse projects.

  • Expected travel is approximately 30% per year depending on location of successful candidate.
